It’s been almost four months since we were able to exercise in our favourite studios and we can’t wait to get back to. Regular group exercise indoors won’t be back on the timetable until at least 17th May, but fear not, as we’ve pulled together a list of outdoor classes, training groups and sessions in London that will help you get back into the swing of things.
Based in Hackney, Rhi and Mouse (founders of Strong + Bendy) have created the ultimate outdoor exercise experience in East London ft canopy, willow tree and dogs. Strong + Bendy offers a range of classes including Battle Ropes, Kettlebells, TRX and Body Blocks all of which can be done in the outdoor space with no shared equipment. Classes can be booked online and prices start from as little as £12 per class.
Strongher are a female only strength studio based in Bethnal Green. They have several options for you to get involved in from 5th April, which include signing up their Warrior Project (a program specifically designed to introduce women to weight and give them the confidence they need to smash it) and taking part in their signature classes in the outdoor section. Visit their website to sign up to their program or book your space in one of their classes.
From 29th March 1 Rebel will be holding outdoor, socially distanced sessions in Victoria Park and Clapham Common. We don’t know if it’s going to be the Rumble and Ride that we’re used to, but we’re expecting lots of sweat, energy and good vibes from these classes. Keep an eye on 1 Rebel Instagram and social accounts for more updates on location, prices and timing.
This one does what is says on the tin really - bootcamp on Tooting Common. TOOTCAMP is a HIIT workout, perfect for all levels. It combines strength, cardio and hybrid training so you’re guaranteed a challenging and fun workout. Sessions are held every day in Tooting, but Oli and his team are looking to expand Tootcamp across South London to Peckham and Clapham (Peckcamp and Clapcamp anyone?!) They have a limited offer on right now where you can purchase three sessions for £19 - head over to their website for more details on how to book.
Founded by strength and conditioning coaches Harriot and James, Park Tribe is an outdoor and online fitness class focusing on all whole body conditioning. Sessions are currently being held over Zoom, but from 29th March sessions will recommence on Tooting Common & Clapham Common. They offer class memberships but head over to their Instagram for more updates. If you’re lucky, you may even get to do your workout with their cockapoo, Mabel.
